The Volcanoes to Trail (Mt Doom Discovery) includes a scenic flight over Tongariro National Park's three volcanic peaks — Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom).

Take in views of the volcanic plateau, Tama Lakes, Lake Taupō and the Kaimanawa Ranges before landing at Patutu Tops, the start of the Kaimanawa Descent. From here, begin your 23km downhill heli-bike ride, descending from the alpine tops through native beech forest and remote backcountry terrain.
