Stewart Island/Rakiura Wildlife Photography Workshop
- Duration: 4 Days (approx.)
- Product code: 4-SI
Join Dr Edin Whitehead & Tony Whitehead in a small group of only 6, for a wildlife photography Workshop on Stewart Island. We have exclusive use of Stewart Island Lodge as a base where we will run review/critique sessions alongside capturing the stunning locations this area has to offer. Over the four days you will be entirely immersed in your photography.
THE WILDLIFE
We will spend time exploring Stewart Island, allowing us to photograph some of New Zealand’s rare marine bird species, such as albatross, mollymawks, and petrels. The island’s forests are also home to many bush species; some are the Stewart Island kiwi, Stewart Island weka, Stewart Island robin, yellowhead, rifleman, bellbird, and tomtit. A boat trip to predator-free Ulva Island offers a unique wildlife experience, as the island boasts many of these bird species in abundance. This trip includes an evening kiwi spotting trip to try and capture these rare birds. On these trips Edin and Tony’s expertise will guide you through how to capture these unique species.
